How To Make Your Garden Feel Like Your an Extension of Your Interior
May 10, 2019 at 2:12 pm 0

With summer well on its way, we're looking forward to those long, balmy summer evenings spent outside. However, once you've filled up on a tasty BBQ, you may be inclined to move inside to relax.

Bring a warming vibe to your garden with simple candles and super comfortable furniture, like the Palermo Corner bench.

In this blog post we're going to show you just how to bring the comfort and style of your interior, to your exterior. Allowing you maximum time spent enjoying your garden and really making the most of every second of summer.

Comfort

What's the one thing at the top of you list when it comes to any new furniture? Comfort. You wouldn't buy a sofa just because it looks good- you buy it to be comfortable and to have a place to relax at the end of a long day. The same goes for your garden furniture.

Bali Modular Garden Bench

We tend to opt for garden furniture that is low cost, plastic and easy to clean, however with new finishes and materials always being developed, you can say goodbye to your uncomfortable plastics, and hello to sofa style garden comfort.

Willow Corner Sofa

The Willow Range is perfect if you're looking for all the comfort of your sofa, but outside so you can enjoy the weather. The cushions are constructed in exactly the same way as your sofa cushions are, so you know you're in for a super sumptuous seat.

The Woven back and sofa style cushions give the Willow bench a super soft look.

The foam and fibre construction used on the seat of the Willow Bench make it really comfortable while also retaining the cushion shape, meaning no sagging and allowing the cushions to bounce back when vacated. The back cushions on the bench are stuffed with fibres, rather than foam, this makes them lovely and soft creating the ideal spot to spend your summer relaxing in.

The Savannah Range is super comfortable and can be re-arranged to suit your needs!

The cushions on our Palermo, Savannah and Bali Garden sofas are all constructed in the same way offering complete comfort.

Style

As you know there are so many different interior styles to suit your personality. The same goes for your garden furniture. Whether you prefer a sleek, contemporary look, or a modern scandi vibe, you're sure to find the perfect match for your home.

We've selected a few different looks to help you seamlessly coordinate your exterior to your interior.

Colourful Homes

If you have the Aver and Finn Dining Set, think about coordinating it with the Palermo Corner Bench in Ocean.

The subtle pop of colour will show your fun side and suits family homes perfectly.

Minimal Homes

If you love the sleek feeling of the Loop and Sanza Dining Set, then the Savannah Modular Unit is the one for you.

Loop Left Hand Corner Dining Bench with the Sanza Table and Backless 3 Seater Loop Bench

Savannah compliments the Loop benches perfectly.

Both the Loop and Sanza benches have simple U-shaped legs to create a minimal and stylish look. The neutral colour palette gives you the freedom to accessories your outdoor space to match your interior, be it with colour, texture or accessories.

Small Homes

If you've got a slightly smaller home, chances are your garden isn't going to be massive either. If that is the case, co-ordinate your compact Terni dining table with the Koko Garden table.

Terni Matt Grey and Fia Dining Set

Koko and Edie Garden Dining Set

Whats more, we have a range of super comfortable garden dining chairs in a colourful summer colour palette to help you pick the right style, shape and colour to suit your space.

Alma Stackable Garden Dining Chairs

For added comfort and maximum style points, choose a chair like the Alma. With its considered silhouette and wrap around arms, you can add both style and comfort to your space.

Edie Stackable Garden Dining Armchair

For a more classic contemporary look, opt for the Edie or the Lola stackable garden chairs. Again, these are available in a variety of colours from the super on-trend mustard, to a fresh aqua to create the look you desire.

Palermo 3 Seater bench with 6 Seater Palermo Table and Skye Dining Chairs

That's not to say that garden chairs should only be used for small gardens! Think about pairing your garden bench with colourful chairs to really complete your garden style.

Accessories

To really bring the feel of the inside out, accessories your garden space the same way you would your interior.

Palermo Corner Bench with Edie Dining Chairs

Add cushions and throws to garden sofas. This not only adds an extra layer softness and comfort, but also gives you and your guests a handy cover if the temperature should dip after dark. What's more, this subtle styling touch will create a super cosy setting you'll never want to leave.

Palermo White Corner Bench

We all love a house plant, and there's no better spot to bring in the greenery than to your garden. Choose palms and exotic plants to bring that Ibizan vibe, or opt for pots of pretty flowers to soften your space and add an extra splash of colour.

Rio White Dining Table with Ice Bucket

Lighting is so important for getting that cosy atmosphere indoors, so use that knowledge to subtly light your garden too. Lanterns and candles work great dotted about the floor, while festoon lighting or string lights will bring a subtle twinkle to mirror the nights sky.

Palermo Corner Bench in Ocean with the Grey 6 Seater Palermo Table

By thinking about comfort, style and accessories, just as you would when decorating your interiors, you can create a beautiful, inviting and cosy outdoor space. Our British summers are always that bit too short, so by bringing your interior style outside, you'll be outside enjoying the summer until it's gone.

Compact Garden Styling Tips
April 26, 2019 at 3:57 pm 0

Summer is well on its way, so now is the time to get your garden summer ready!

Grey Koko and Mustard Edie Garden Dining Set

If you have a smaller, more compact garden or patio, you may feel like there's not a great deal you can do with it. That's where you'd be wrong. Take a look at our top tips for creating your dream space no matter how small.

Small Gardens

Say you have a small garden with a paved or decked area and a lawn. You may think that there is not enough space for an outdoor dining set, but there is a wide variety of different garden furniture to fit your space and create the spot to spend your summer!

White Koko and Aqua Lola Garden Dining Set

  • Folding Dining Set's are great for small spaces, as you can easily pack down and store, making the most of your compact space.
  • Stackable Dining Chairs are another ideal choice for small spaces. This allows you to keep your area clear but easily unstack and place around your table when entertaining.
  • Round Dining Tables take up slightly less space than rectangular tables and give you that bit more flexibility with seating options.

All our garden chairs are stackable, making for easy storage and space saving.

If you have that little bit more space, you may want to keep your garden furniture out all summer long. By choosing a round table with stackable chairs, you can create many dining situations, depending on the time of day or event you're hosting.

Garden Parties

If you're hosting a garden party, push your table into a corner and use this to display the food and drinks. Positions your chairs around your patio so your guests can socialise and have fun, without the formality of sitting around a table.

If you really want to focus on entertaining, see if you could squeeze in a corner bench and coffee table like our Palermo range.

Weekend BBQ's

For a relaxed day time situation, pair your table and chairs together. Your guests can relax around the table with a glass of Pimms, while the husbands gather around the BBQ exclaiming "when it's black, it's done!".

Porto and Alma Dining Set

With a round dining table, you have the flexibility of squeezing a few extra places if needed. Our Koko and Porto Dining Tables are 4 seaters, but you can easily squeeze up to 6 if needed.

Porto and Alma 4 Seater Set Increased to 6 Seats.

Small Patios

If you've got a tiny garden, consisting of a small patio, you can still make the most of your space.

Have a look at a small 2-4 seater garden table, like our Palermo, as you can still create a lovely area to dine, without taking up all your usable space.

White Palermo 2-4 Seater and Lola Dining Set

If you have a mini sun trap in your garden and favour relaxing over dining, think about a super chic day bed. The Willow 2 seater garden sofa is great for relaxing, and the contemporary coffee table comes with a handy cushion, allowing you to turn your casual seating into a garden day bed.

Willow 2 Seater Sofa plus Coffee Table, Creating a Cosy Day Bed

The aluminium powder-coated frame is inherently anti-rust, meaning you can store the frames outside all year long. Pop the cushions inside to protect them, and for extra protection, keep your outdoor furniture covered.

Apartment Balconies

If you live in a flat or apartment with a small balcony, why not choose a couple of stackable armchairs. Dining armchairs are more comfortable due to their supporting nature. Treat yourself to a stylish seat cushion and soak up that vitamin D out on your balcony.

Grey Alma Dining Chairs

Small Garden Styling

Now you have your furniture sorted, have fun with your styling! With gardens, there are so many different styles to look at. From classic English country gardens to sleek, minimal and structured Ibizan inspired terraces, take a look at these styles.

Modest and Modern

Looking for the modern style with a bit more of a personal touch? Think about combining sleek shapes with free growing plants. Be clever with how you use the space and create wall potters to add interest and satisfy your green fingers.

White furniture looks great against dark painted garden walls or raw wooden fences. Stick to natural textures and elements to give your garden an organic and modern feel.

When the evening starts to draw in, hang festoon lights to create a cosy outdoor space.

Cool and Colourful

If you want to add colour to your garden the easiest way is to introduce colourful garden chairs. Our mustard and aqua stackable plastic garden chairs bring that much-needed pop to your space.

If you're feeling creative, why not paint rendered walls a bright colour! Yellows or Pinks will bring a really fun feel and balance modern white garden furniture.

Play with fun prints and textures and be sure to bring in the most colourful plants you can find! Eclectic gardens at their finest.

Danetti Garden Range 2019- Explore The Collection
March 8, 2019 at 2:43 pm 0

The 2019 Garden Collection is finally here!

Last year we launched our first ever collection of garden furniture for contemporary homes (you can see that right here). After such a phenomenal response, this year we're back and bigger than ever.

Verano Garden Lounge Chair
Sit back and relax in the new Verano Garden Lounge Chair

We've developed 2 new ranges of Modular Garden Sofas, some beautiful day beds and some of last years favourites in new colourways. So keep on scrolling to take a look at this year's modern garden furniture.

Modular Garden Benches

Savannah

The new Savannah modular garden unit allows total garden flexibility. Modular units are available in a single, double, corner, double with side tables, so you can pick and mix the units to suit your garden, regardless of its size.

Savannah Corner Modular Bench

For extra versitility, we have shown you how to take your dining set and turn it into 2 smaller areas to make the most of your garden.

Garden Modular Unit
Split up your corner unit to create a cosy garden hangout zone.

Grey Modular Garden Furniture
Add 2 extra single units and take your cosy corner set into a social hub perfect for parties!

The Savannah modular units are made from a seamless lightweight powder coated aluminium frame. They require no assembly at all- simply unpack and position in your garden, ready to enjoy the summer sun.

Savannah Day Bed
Push the cushioned Savannah Coffee Table up into the corner for a "never leaving this spot again" day bed.

Whats more, the Savannah Coffee Table comes with a removable cushion. This allows you to use it as a coffee table, or attach the cushion for a foot rest or, better yet, a luxurious day bed!

Bali Modular Unit

Also new for 2019 is the Bali Modular Garden Furniture. This set is super luxurious and is ideal for modern, minimal gardens. As with the Savannah range, the Bali comes in a variety of indivudual modular pieces so you can create a look perfect for your garden.

Bali Modular Corner Bench

Unlike our previous corner garden sofas, the Bali range has a tempered frosted glass side table, whereas the Palermo and Savannah both had polywood side tables. The tempered glass brings a level of luxury unlike any other.

Bali Garden Dining Set

Garden Dining Benches

Palermo Outdoor Benches

Back due to popular demand is the Palermo Corner Benches, but this year they've had a bit of a makeover...

Teal Garden Corner Sofa
The Ocean Palermo Range works great with the Dark Grey Palermo Dining Table

We've introduced not only a new Ocean Teal colour but also 3 seater garden benches with backrest. This gives you the freedom to use as outdoor dining furniture, or separate for the evening to create an intimate, comfortable setting.

Palermo and Skye Dining Set for Gardens
Mix and match to create your own personal outdoor dining set up

Mix and match your outdoor dining bench with our stackable plastic garden chairs. We've brought back the same best selling styles from last year and introduced more colours and styles, giving you optimum options for your garden style.

Palermo 3 Seater Dining Bench
Make the most of the summer evenings with the Palermo benches, giving extra comfort for long, lazy mealtimes.

Pair up 2 of the new 3 seater Palermo benches to take your garden dining set from day to night. These benches offer the comfort of a garden sofa with the practicality of dining chairs.

One small change we have also made this year is that we have removed any fittings to hold the corner units together, and replaced this with velcro straps, allowing you to keep as a corner sofa, or separate to create a more social, relaxed feel.

Willow Corner Bench and Day Bed

The Willow range has been designed in house and consists of a beautiful hand wrapped rope back. The simple grey colour palette brings depth and style to green gardens and offers the most appealing place to relax.

Rope Back Corner Sofa
The Willow Garden Corner Sofa is perfect for summer lounging.

The corner sofa is perfect for parties, while the love seat / day bed is perfect for first time buyers.

Willow 2 Seater Sofa with Coffee Table
Use your Willow Love Seat as a sofa and coffee table...
Willow 2 Seater Garden Sofa and Foot Rest
...a sofa and foot rest...
Willow Day Bed
...or as a super cosy daybed. Perfect for sunbathing (just make sure you slap on the SPF)

The cushions on these and all of our garden furniture are showerproof, meaning you can leave them out in a light summer shower and they will be absolutely fine. For heavier downpours we recommend taking them inside, just to be on the safe side.

Verano Lounge Chairs

We did some digging last year and it seems that if you don't have a huge amount of space in your garden, you'll go for lounge furniture over dining furniture.

Verano Lounger Set

We don't blame you. Even if you have a BBQ on the go, you'll spend more time sitting around and lounging than eating, which is exaclty why we've designed the new Verano Lounge Chair.

Verano Headrest

With a perfectly positioned head rest and matching foot rest if you only have limited space in your garden, make sure you make room for these.

All of our garden furniture is UV protected and designed to be left outside, meaning the colour will not fade in the sun and you're fine to leave it out all year long.

We would recommend a garden furniture cover to keep off any grit and grime, but should you choose to leave out, they're easily cleaned with a spray from the home and a wipe down with a clean cloth.

Dining Tables

Rio dining table with removable ice bucket

We have also introduced 2 new dining tables and new colour options of last years favourites such as the Koko and Palermo. This year, we've listened to your feedback and included an ice bucket to our new Rio table- making those long summer evening even more enjoyable!

Porto

Porto garden dining table

The Porto is a generous 4 seater outdoor dining table, but will easily seat 6-8 comfortably. We have new dining sets including our new Alma dining chairs, and the Ivy outdoor dining chairs (keep reading to check them out!) to suit all garden styles, from family orientated to sleek and modern.

U-shaped garden corner dining set

The beauty of the Porto Table is that it's hand size means it's suitable for small townhouse gardens or your larger country gardens. Pair with a with a U-shaped bench for all-day comfort!

Rio

Rio garden dining table with ice bucket

We love the Rio dining table. With it's handy removable ice bucket you really can take the party from day to night while maintaining all the garden style you're after.

Rio White Garden Table with Ice Bucket

When not needed, you can remove the bucket and cover the hole for a classic garden dining table. However, when you want to get the party started, simply fill with ice and your favourite beverages and keep them cool all night!

Available in white or dark grey you're sure to find the perfect addition to your garden.

Garden Dining Tables

The Koko Dining table was first launched last year, however after so many of you were trying to get your hands on it once it sold out, we knew we had to bring it back for 2019. But this year it's had a bit of a makeover.

Koko white garden dining table

Still made from powder-coated aluminium and a frosted tempered glass top, it now also comes in white! Channel those Ibizan terrace vibes in the Surrey hills!

We have also updates the small 2-4 seater Palermo Garden Dining Table to white, making sure you have plenty of style options regardless of the size of your garden.

I gave you a little preview earlier on, but we're super excited to share with your the new Ivy Garden Dining Chairs.

The modern styling brings all the style and detail from your interiors to your garden, proving that garden furniture is an extension of your home.

How to Store Your Garden Furniture For Winter
August 31, 2018 at 4:33 pm 0
What a summer we’ve had! The bright summer mornings and long summer nights spent in the garden seemed like they’d last forever. But as the weather begins to get cooler and the clouds start creeping in, it’s a good idea to start thinking about how you're going to store your garden furniture over the winter monthsAlthough designed for outdoor use, garden furniture is best tucked away or protected during the rainy seasons. Follow our top tips so that your garden pieces stay looking sleek and fresh, ready for use next year!

Keep It Clean

Mould and mildew can spread quickly if moisture is left on the surface. So one of the most important steps when it comes to storing your garden furniture is to clean it beforehand. One final, thorough clean before storage will help the furniture be fit for use next summertime.

How to Clean: Cast Aluminium

We all know Aluminium garden furniture won’t rust, (and if you don’t, take a look at our Aluminium post here), but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to take care of the material when you store it away. Start by using a nylon-bristled brush to remove any dirt or leaves. Then it’s best to use a hot water and soap solution to scrub away any further marks and stains. Try to avoid using cleaning materials that are overly abrasive as they can damage the surface of the aluminium. Once cleaned, use fresh water to rinse the aluminium. You can help further polish and protect the surface by applying a coat of water and vinegar with a soft cloth.

How to Clean: Plastic Chairs

Plastic furniture is so easy to clean. You can start by using warm water mixed with soap, detergent, or any other standard cleaning solution. For a deeper clean, you’re fine to use a tiny bit of bleach. Avoid using steel wool or anything abrasive as this can damage a plastic surface.  Plastic furniture is able to withstand the force of a pressure washer. So before storing your chairs, give them a quick hose down to rinse of any leaves or dirt.

How to Clean: Frabic Bench Cushions

Most outdoor bench cushion covers are removable and machine washable. However, if you wash them too frequently, the protective coating will begin to wear away. If you are machine washing your cushions, a gentle wash on the coolest cycle will be all you need. For regular, light cleaning of your bench cushions, lightly brush off any loose dirt and then vacuum the surface using the handheld nozzle. Then, spot-clean the affected area using a damp cloth and fabric safe cleaning product.

Stack Your Chairs

When not in use it’s best to stack your chairs. This will help to minimize their footprint both in and outside. If you don’t have the space to store them inside, try to leave your chairs in a relatively sheltered area of the garden and cover them with a tarp or other waterproof cover. The cover for your chairs should be close fitting but not too tight so that some air can circulate around your furniture. Stacking the chairs when left outside will also give them added weight so they won’t topple over in strong winds.

Keep it Covered

Even when stored inside away from the elements, it’s still a good idea to keep your garden furniture covered. This will help prevent dust from settling on the surface. Our garden covers are made from a high quality, heavy gauge woven fabric with a waterproof coating. This garden cover comes with a cord and eyelet so that it can be cinched in, keeping your garden furniture securely undercover.

Store on a Solid, Flat Surface

If possible, try to move your furniture off of your grass when not in use as this will significantly reduce the furniture’s exposure to moisture. If this isn’t an option, try standing the table and chair legs in saucers or on pieces of wood preservative as this will add an extra layer of protection. For more tips on how to clean your garden furniture, make sure you take a look at our Cleaning Outdoor Furniture blog post.

Cleaning Outdoor Garden Furniture – Our Top Tips
June 22, 2018 at 4:57 pm 0
Danetti garden range cleaning guide No one wants to spend their summer cleaning their garden furniture. That's we’ve made sure the materials chosen for our outdoor range are easy to clean and fit for purpose! If you're looking for some tips and tricks on how to keep your outdoor furniture looking its best, you've come to the right place. Take a look at our handy Outdoor Range Care and Cleaning Guide...

Cleaning Plastic Dining Chairs

What are they made of?

The chairs in our outdoor garden range are made from moulded polypropylene which is a hard wearing and durable plastic. Available in a variety of colourways, polypropylene is such a great material choice for outdoor furniture as it’s so easy to clean and maintain. Its smooth plastic surface makes it water resistant while it’s lightweight qualities make it easy to move but remains sturdy and supportive.

How do I clean it?

To clean your plastic garden chairs, wash over the surface with warm soapy water to remove any surface marks. For a deeper clean,  you can use a mild household cleaning spray or furniture wipes. Baby wipes are also a quick fix if you need to wipe a minor spill. Because the chairs are made from polypropylene, it’s fine to use an antibacterial spray on the surface. As your chairs will be outside, it’s likely you’ll need to give them a quick clean more regularly than your indoor seating.

How do I care for it?

As with any plastic, the colour can be subject to fading when left out for long periods of time. Just keep in mind that direct exposure to direct sunlight and sources of heat, over time, will affect the colouring. To prevent this, wash your plastic chairs regularly and store the chairs away when not in regular use.
All of our garden chairs, including the Lola Garden Chair, can be stacked for easy storage.

All of our garden chairs, including the Lola Garden Chair, can be stacked for easy storage.

Table & Bench Frames

What are they made of?

Our outdoor dining table and bench frames are made from powder coated aluminium. A great feature of aluminium is that it’s inherently anti-rust, however, what you might not know is why... when aluminium is exposed to the elements, its material qualities mean that it develops a microscopic layer of oxide on its exterior. It’s this oxide layer that acts as a barrier to protect the metal from further damage and prevent it from corroding!

How do I clean it?

To clean the powder coated leg frame of your table or benches, first, remove any decorative cushions or furniture accessories. Then, simply wash the surface with soapy water. For more stubborn or greasy marks, you can add a mild household acid such as vinegar or lemon juice. Stay away from any ammonia, TSP or soda-based products as this can encourage further oxidation on the surface. It’s a good idea to use your garden hose to give your aluminium a good rinse. If you do this, avoid using a pressure washer or a strong setting on a garden hose nozzle as such a strong and focused stream of water could damage the finish. A normal garden hose will do just the trick. We advise that you wash your table and bench frames as and when needed when in use, but make sure you give them one last thorough clean before you store the furniture away for winter.

How do I care for it?

A powder-coated aluminium surface not only increases the visual appeal of the aluminium but also gives the metal additional strength. This helps to reduce scratches and dents from daily use. However, we suggest keeping an eye out for small chips or cracks on the surface so you can prevent any water from entering underneath the outer layer. To further protect the surface after cleaning, wipe the surface with a little car wax or baby oil on a dry cloth as this will help give the surface a wonderful shine.

Frosted Glass Table Tops

What are the made of?

Acid etched tempered glass with a film colouring applied on the back. An acid etched glass surface works almost like the opposite of buffing a surface to a shine. Instead, it gives the glass a hazy, semi-opaque appearance. You might think the word 'etched' sounds like the surface would be rough, but this process actually makes the table incredibly soft and a dream to run your hands across!

How do I clean it?

To clean acid etched glass, spray the glass lightly with a good quality, non-streaking window cleaner.  Then wipe the table top over with a clean, soft lint-free towel. Never use anything abrasive as this will scratch the beautifully smooth surface. After cleaning, move the cloth in a circular motion to dry the glass. This will also help to prevent water marks and spots.

How do I care for it?

Because acid etched glass isn’t an applied finish that can chip or peel off, it really becomes an integral feature of the glass. It’s the most durable possible version of a matt finish... what could be more durable than tempered safety glass! That said, there are still steps you can take to keep your glass outdoor furniture looking its best for longer. We advise not to place hot utensils straight onto the table's surface. Instead, use something such as a table matt or wicker coaster. This will prevent the glass surface from becoming marked or slightly damaged over time from the heat. Top Tip: the frosted glass surface of the Palermo and Fresco tables can be removed from the table as it’s held in place by discreet anti-slip suction pads. This means you can give the underside an in-depth clean every now and then, and before you store the table away for winter.

Cushions and Covers

What are the cushions made of?

The construction of our outdoor cushions are made up of a foam layer with a dacron wrap over the top. The foam creates a really comfortable and cosy feel when seated, while the darcon neatly wraps the cushions to create a shapely and fulfilled appearance. Perfect for keeping your outdoor dining space looking ever inviting, all of the seat cushions in our garden range are UK Fire Retardant (FR).

What is the cover made of?

The cushion covers for our garden range are made from 100% polyester. A synthetic polymer,  polyester is a very smart material choice for outdoor cushion covers as it’s resistant to stretching and shrinking. It’s also quick drying, moisture resistant and easy to clean. To make this material even more suited for outdoor use, we’ve also applied an anti-UV treatment and a showerproof coating. This not only protects the material but makes it that much easier to clean. What more could you need!

How do I care for the cushion cover?

Polyester is waterproof to an extent due to its coating. This means that raindrops will land and sit on the surface and roll off, rather than being absorbed straight in. The cover isn’t indestructible though! We suggest that you store the cushions inside when not in use, making sure they’re thoroughly dried before storage.

How do I clean the cushion and cover?

The cushion covers are removable and machine washable. However, if they are washed regularly the protective coating will begin to wear away. A cold wash on the gentlest cycle of your machine will be all you need but we recommend you don’t do this too often. For regular, light cleaning, you can lightly brush off any loose dirt or grime and then vacuum the surface. Then, it's best to spot clean the area using a damp cloth and fabric safe cleaning product.    If you can, it’s best to clean your garden cushions on a sunny, warm day. This will allow you to spread the cushions out on a sheet or on your patio.

So there you have it!

British Summer Garden Party – A How To Guide
June 15, 2018 at 10:41 am 0
This time of year we all love a good Garden Party. Whether it's a weekend BBQ, a birthday party or just having some friends over, we've got you covered. From furnishing your garden, styling tips and how to change plans in case of rain. Read our quick tips for planning for the perfect Summer Garden Party!

4 Seater Palermo Dining Table with Matcha Green Skye Dining Chairs

Kit out your Garden

Let's start with the absolute basics. For any garden party, you're going to need somewhere for your guests to sit! Depending on the size of your garden and the kind of knee's up you're having will help determine the right style of garden seating for you.

Garden Sizing

All said and done, it's down to your own personal style and how you use your garden which will ultimately help choose your new garden furniture. But we're here to help and offer a few suggestions to help you create the garden of your dreams.

Smaller Sized Gardens

For those with smaller gardens, you want to think about space saving garden furniture. A Pedestal Dining Table paired with 2 backless benches is the perfect option as you can easily tuck the benches under the table when not in use.

6 Seater Palermo Backless Bench Dining Set

Our Palermo Pedestal Dining Table comes in 2 different sizes; a 4 Seater option and a 6 Seater option. However, as your garden dining situation tends to be a little more relaxed, there's nothing stopping you keeping a couple of chairs aside for those extra guests.

Palermo 6 Seater with 3 Seater Palermo Benches and Edie Dining Armchairs

To match your new dining table, our Palermo backless benches also come in a 2 or 3 seater option. As before, you can comfortably fit 2 or 3 people on our benches (depending on your chosen size). However, if you wanted to have a few extra guests, you have the space to squeeze on a few extra bums.

Larger Sized Gardens

If you have a generously sized garden, make the most of this and create 'rooms' for your outdoors. Create a chill-out area, or 'living room', on one side with the Palermo Corner Bench and Coffee Table, and a 'dining room' on the other. This is ideal for larger Garden Parties as you give your guests more space and can create a more relaxed vibe.

White Corner Palermo Garden Bench

Stylist Tip: For larger gardens, add subtle pops of colour to keep your space feeling homely. Our Skye Matcha Green Dining Chairs look great with white or grey aluminium garden furniture and add a hint of warmth to reflect your garden.

Grey 6 Seater Palermo Dining Table with Skye Chairs

Average Sized Gardens

For those typical gardens, you have the best of both worlds. Stick with a pedestal dining table but pair with the corner sofa. This allows you generous space for dining while giving you the freedom to move your table aside (possibly as a drinks station for your summer garden party!)

Palermo Dining Set with the 4 Seater Table, 2 Seater Bench and Corner Sofa

What's more, due to the space saving pedestal dining table, once your guests are suitably full, you can simply slide your table closer to the corner bench, clearing space for a dance floor!

You can pair your garden corner bench set with either a backless bench or our range of stackable, plastic garden dining chairs. Although our dining chairs are plastic, they're not the flimsy things your grandparents used to own! Our Garden chairs are made from moulded polypropylene making them incredibly strong and stable.

Garden Party Styling

Now you have your seating and dining situation sorted, it's time for the fun part- styling your garden. Again, how you decorate your outdoor space depends on what your garden party is in honour of. So here are a few of our tips for year-round garden styling. You can always add or increase in aid of any summer garden parties.
  • Bunting - Bunting is a must have for your quintessential summer garden party. With so many variations out there, you're sure to find a colour and/or print to suit your personal style.

  • Greenery - Although our gardens tend to be pretty green, where we entertain is usually paved and walled. Play around with different plants in colourful plant pots to bring some life to your decked garden area. Try different sized palm plants and trees for a Miami beach house vibe.

  • Colour - Inject colour into your garden with your dining chairs. You can then compliment these with your choice of cups, plates napkins etc to create bright and fun space.

Contrast smooth frosted glass with wood for a very satisfying juxtaposition

  • Lighting - If you're hosting a summer garden party (and you get lucky with the weather) you're going to want to make the most of being outdoors. Add some festoon lighting or contemporary lanterns for soft lighting and a lovely calming mood.

Lanterns add warmth and interest to an outdoor space

  • Accessories - When we style our homes, we use objects and props that we love- the same goes for your garden! Think about adding some concrete buddha's or marble shapes to bring the indoors, out. By propping your garden as you would your interior, you're making your guests feel at ease and creating an inviting home.

In Case of Rain

Here in good ol' Blighty, the weather is never settled. You could be planning a summer garden party for months, the weather leading up to it is absolutely perfect but the day of your event, the rain shows up. It's a fact we've got to accept living here, but we never let a drop of rain ruin our plans!

Palermo 6 Seater White Dining Table with 2x Palermo 3 Seater Benches

Obviously, plan for great weather as when it's good, it really is great. But it's important to have a backup plan- just in case. There are a few things you can do such as hiring a gazebo or having a covered area as a permanent fixture in your garden. (This will protect you from the sun and also rain). But if you don't have the time or space, it's time for plan B.

Julia shared this picture of her lovely cat, Bea, enjoying her Danetti Furniture Cover

If the rain does end up spoiling your garden party, you're best bet is to move inside. But before you do, make sure you cover over your garden furniture. Although all of our garden fabrics are showerproof, it's always safest to keep the furniture covered or away in the garage/shed. We offer covers designed for any combination of garden furniture you choose!

Our Garden Furniture cover is waterproof to protect your furniture from the British weather!

What's more, our stackable garden dining chairs are versatile and trendy enough to use indoors as well as out. So cover over your table and benches, bring your chairs inside and let the festivities continue!

The Skye Garden Chairs also look great indoors, too!

Outdoor Patio Chairs – Get Ready for Summer!
June 8, 2018 at 4:03 pm 0
Summer is just around the corner, and what better way to enjoy the warm weather than sunning yourself on a sleek garden chair! Long gone are the days of boring green plastic seating. Our collection of outdoor patio chairs and garden seating have been designed to revitalise both you and your garden space. So sit back and relax this summertime on some stylish seating that has social dining at its heart...

Lola Garden Chair

The curved shape and simple design of the Lola Garden Chair will create such a welcoming and convivial feel around any garden table. The contemporary look of this garden chair will instantly freshen up the feel of your outdoor space.

Get The Look:

Here we've styled the Lola chair alongside the Palermo 2 to 4 seater garden table. This set is perfect if you're a little pushed for space, or if you don't want your outdoor space fully occupied by your dining table. With the option to seat two to four people, or to use the table as a centrepiece for drinks and snacks, this set up is incredibly versatile.

Edie Garden Chair

The Edie Garden Chair is a modern take on traditional garden seating. Easy to clean, lightweight yet durable, the Edie chair ticks plenty of the right boxes!

Get The Look:

Outdoor patio chairs are incredibly versatile. Here we've styled the Edie chairs alongside the Fresco table and Palermo corner bench to create a welcoming and sociable outdoor space. The combination of the chairs and bench mixes and matches dining with lounging, while also allowing you to pull up a few extra spaces when you have more guests to seat.

Edie Garden Armchair

If you're after slightly more support when seated, we suggest choosing a garden armchair. Coordinating with the Edie Garden Chair, the Edie Garden Armchair has space for you to rest your arms so you can really sit back and relax. You can also mix and match dining chairs and armchairs for a stylised look.

Get The Look:

Garden armchairs are a great fit styled at either end of your dining table (this goes for indoors as well). Doing this gives the set more focus. Here we've styled the Edie with the Palermo table and bench. By combing a backless bench with the two armchairs, the look remains open and inviting yet seamlessly coordinated.

Skye Garden Chair

The Skye Garden Chair is such a comfy plastic seat due to the curvature of the seat back. The fluid shape means the chairs can be easily stacked for handy space saving and storage while maintaining a sleek design. The open style back is also a great feature for keeping your garden space looking open and inviting.

Get The Look:

By pairing the crisp white frosted glass finish of the Palermo table with the colourful plastic Sky chair,, the colours really pop. Matcha green is an ideal choice if you want to coordinate with more earthy elements in your garden, such as plants and decking, while the freshness of the white table adds a hint of modern flair.

Palermo Outdoor Corner Bench with Seasons in Colour
June 1, 2018 at 4:10 pm 0
This Spring saw the introduction of our Garden Furniture Range. Made up of a contemporary collection of outdoor dining tables, stackable garden chairs and, most popularly, our Garden Bench range. We recently teamed up with Interior Blogger Jenny Kakoudakis, owner of Season in Colour, to see what she thought of our new Palermo outdoor corner bench. Take a look at how Jenny has styled the corner bench in her own stunning garden and what she thinks of the Palermo Bench and Coffee table set.

At Home with Season in Colour

When Jenny came to us about her Garden Makeover, we knew our Palermo Corner Bench was exactly what her garden needed. With a large patio space, Jenny wanted to create a relaxation zone for her and her friends and family to spend the long summer evenings. We love how Jenny has styled her garden bench with palm prints and fluoro colour for a true summer vibe.     The Palermo Corner Bench comes in Grey and White, and in a left-handed and right-handed option to suit all garden styles. The bench secures together with discrete screws to avoid separating when in use. However, Jenny has used her initiative and separated the 2-sides of her bench to create an outdoor living room feel. If you choose to do this with your own, just be aware you will be able to see the holes. But we highly doubt anyone will notice when you garden looks and gorgeous as this!

What Jenny Has to Say about the Palermo Corner Bench

"The range is not only good looking - contemporary greys and whites and a mix of metal and wood - but it is also practical. The fabric on the cushion is for example wipeable. You know, because wine accidents happen all the time in garden parties!

The piece I chose was the Palermo Grey right-hand corner outdoor dining bench and the Palermo coffee table. They both arrived within a couple days of ordering, flat packed with easy assembly instructions and all the necessary equipment to do the job, which by the way can be done by one person easily."

"Now, some really nice surprises! First, two seat cushions can be added onto the composite wood end tables to create a couple of extra seats. This modular design feature makes this bench incredibly versatile and changeable to suit your seating needs.

Next up, the fact that you can not screw the two benches together, but instead leave them facing each other to create an alternative styling and more formal seating arrangement!"

Jenny has even done a great video review of her garden makeover. Check it out below, and don't forget to let us know what you think of Season in Colour's garden.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=6&v=h8f5pstgSIQ

Why Choose a Garden Corner Bench?

Think about the time you spend in your garden. With our British summers being so temperamental, we want to make the most of every second of sunshine. The typical home will have a garden dining set, which is lovely- but mainly designed for eating. When the sun is shining at 3 in the afternoon, you don't want to be sat up at the table, you want to be reclining and relaxing.       That's why choosing a garden corner bench is the perfect option for you. Not only can you create a chill out zone ideal for entertaining, but the handy sizing of our Palermo Range means you can also sit up around your table. Pair with one of our 6 seater garden dining tables, such as the Fresco or Palermo dining tables, and create a comfy dining area.

Garden Bench Seating Options

Along with the Palermo Corner Bench, you can also pair up with our 2 or 3 seater backless garden benches. Palermo Backless benches are ideal for creating that relaxed garden dining setting. Choose 2 dining benches to sit either side of your table for a compact dining area. Alternatively, pair with the corner bench for a larger, more sociable area.     If you wanted even more flexibility with your garden furniture, team your corner bench with a dining table and stackable chairs. That way, you can separate your corner bench from the garden dining set when spending time with the family. Otherwise arrange altogether when you have extra quests to entertain.     The possibilities are endless.   If you wanted to re-create this look, follow this link to shop the Palermo Garden Bench Range for yourself. Don't forget to share your beautiful garden snaps with us by tagging #mydanetti in your Facebook and Instagram photos! Here's to some more sunny weather!

Aluminium: Why You Should Buy Aluminium Garden Furniture
May 25, 2018 at 4:34 pm 0
Summer is just around the corner, so what better way to enjoy the warm weather than sunning yourself on some stylish garden furniture! We’ve written a whole series of posts about sizing and styling garden furniture (which you can read here). But what about materials? Introducing Aluminium…

What Makes Aluminium So Special?

Aluminium garden furniture is perfect for climates that have a mix of rainy and sunny spells. This is because it is inherently anti-rust. So when exposed to the elements,  aluminium develops a microscopic layer of oxide on its exterior. It’s this oxide layer that acts as a barrier to protect the metal from further damage and prevent it from corroding (the more you know!).  Despite being incredibly durable, aluminium furniture won’t break the bank. This means you can have both style and quality at an affordable price.

Strength & Durability

Highly resistant to cracking or other types of blemishes, aluminium garden furniture is ideal for busy families as it can withstand both the elements and frequent use. Although we do recommend that you store your aluminium furniture in a dry place during the winter months, or use a cover during rainy spells, you don’t have to worry about the elements breaking down the structure of the furniture itself as it is highly resistant.

Function & Form

Another great feature of aluminium is that it’s light enough to pick up and move around your garden but substantial enough that it still makes a style impact in the space. This makes it easy to restyle in your garden and then store inside during the winter months. Lightweight doesn’t mean flimsy though; aluminium still has a weighted quality which makes it heavy enough to stay put on your patio. This, combined with features such as the frosted glass top of our Palermo and Fresco tables, will keep your garden table neatly in place.

How Do I Clean Aluminium Furniture?

If you’re after garden furniture that’s low maintenance and easy to clean, aluminium is about to become your new best friend! This is especially true if you buy a powder coated frame or cast aluminium as the finish is baked on. This makes it outperform basic sprayed-on coatings when it comes to durability and longevity. To clean the powder-coated aluminium frame of your table or benches, first, remove any decorative cushions and furniture accessories. Then, simply wash the surface with a lint-free cloth and soapy water. Dirt and salts can build up on the surface over time causing it to look dusty and grimy, so it’s best to first clean this away to avoid damaging the powder coating.     Top Tip: Don’t forget to wash underneath the furnishing and in all cracks and grooves. If your furniture has a glass top, clean it with a household glass cleaner but try to avoid spraying this on the powder coating.   For more stubborn or greasy marks, you can add a mild household acid such as vinegar or lemon juice. Stay away from any ammonia, TSP or soda-based products as this can encourage further oxidation on the surface. Avoid scraping or rubbing the powder coating with an abrasive cloth as this could damage or even remove the coating from the surface. It’s a good idea to use your garden hose to give your aluminium a good rinse. Because aluminium is anti-rust, this won’t damage the surface. If you do this, avoid using a pressure washer or a strong setting on a garden hose nozzle as such a strong and focused stream of water could damage the furniture’s finish. A normal garden hose will do just the trick. Allow the furniture to dry completely before placing cushions on the seat. We advise that you wash your table and bench frames as and when needed when in use, but make sure you give them one last thorough clean before you store the furniture away for winter. Top Tip: Try to clean your powder-coated aluminium furniture in the shade to avoid fast-drying streaks and unwanted fading.

How Do I Keep Aluminium Looking Its Best?

A powder-coated aluminium surface not only increases the visual appeal of the aluminium but also gives the metal additional strength. This helps to reduce scratches and dents from daily use. However, to keep it looking its best we suggest keeping an eye out for small chips or cracks on the surface. This is so you can prevent any water from entering underneath the outer layer. To further protect the surface after cleaning, wipe the surface with a little car wax or baby oil on a dry cloth as this will help give the surface a wonderful shine. If you really want to keep your powder coated aluminium looking its best, from time to time you may also want to also apply a wax product that is specially designed for keeping powder coatings looking new. A good time to do this is just before storing or covering your patio set for the winter.

So there you have it!

That’s why you should buy aluminium furniture for your garden. Easy to move and style. Practical when it comes to cleaning and able to withstand the weather. What more could you need! If you’d like to see more, why not take a look at our range of aluminium garden furniture on our website.

7 Outdoor Furniture Buying Mistakes You’ll Want To Avoid!
April 27, 2018 at 2:54 pm 0
7 Outdoor Furniture Buying Mistakes You’ll Want To Avoid! Image: Palermo Grey Pedestal Table and Lola Small Dining Set When browsing for garden furniture, it’s so easy to get carried away with all the different shapes, sizes and styling possibilities. But have no fear, we are here to help. Stay away from these 7 Outdoor Furniture Buying Mistakes and you’ll have created your dream garden setting in no time!

Mistake 1: Not Thinking About Your Outdoor Space

The outdoor dining set in that glossy magazine may look a dream styled alongside acres of grass and a 30ft pool. But unfortunately, we don’t all have the same luxurious space to fill! Before you start your search, consider your own garden area and what furniture you think will work (and fit) in the setting. Have you got a little alcove that’s ideal for a dining bench?
Palermo Grey Pedestal Table and Lola Small Dining Set

The Palermo White 2 Seater Bench is the perfect fit in a corner or by the side of your patio. Featured set: Palermo Grey Pedestal Table and Lola Small Dining Set

How about a square decked area that would suit around dining set? If you shop for the space you have, you can either maximise it with space-saving features or decide what portion of your garden you want to utilise with furniture. If you have a large decked space, you don't have to completely fill it with furniture. You could choose a dining set that will fill only part of the space to section off a dining area and leave the rest open, ideal if you'd like have a clear view out of your patios doors.   It’s also a good idea to think about usage. Do you entertain regularly? Make sure you have enough seats for friends and family. Are you looking to create an alfresco dining spot or more of a lounge area? You’ll need to think about what you want to use the space for so you can choose the furniture to match.

Mistake 2: Not Measuring Before You Buy

We talk about this a lot in each of our buying guides (which you can read here if you’re interested), but we can’t stress enough how important it is to measure before you buy. Measure the space, mark it out using a cardboard cut out or bedsheet before you buy so you know the furniture will fit. In a garden space, you are a little less restricted than you are indoors, but it’s always best practice to check first.

Mistake 3: Not Researching The Materials Or Quality

Some materials would look stunning in a garden space, but they may not be fit for purpose. Others will stand the test of time, but then have the bulky and boring look of traditional garden furniture. Thankfully, there are materials that are as practical as they are good looking! If you’re opting for fabric outdoor furniture, two key features to look for are Shower Proofing and UV protection. Showerproof fabrics are okay to be left out during those light summer showers (though it’s best to store them inside when heavier rain starts to fall). Fabrics with a UV protection are far less likely to be subject to fading as the coating is designed to prevent this.   An aluminium frame is also something to keep on your radar. The great thing about aluminium is that it’s anti-rust and can, therefore, withstand the rain. It’s also lightweight so you can easily move, reposition and manoeuver your garden furniture. Our range of aluminium garden furniture has a sleek powder coat so you have the option of a dark or lighter finish to style in your space.

Mistake 4: Forgetting About Function And Relying On Aesthetics

It’s easy to get drawn in by trendy colours and finishes. But if you don’t also consider the quality and function of the furniture alongside its looks, then it’s very unlikely to be fit for use or stand the test of time. This is why you need to consider both function and form. Our frosted glass table tops, for example, not only look effortlessly sleek, but they are also functional too. The glass is easy to wipe clean and weather resistant, while the frosted top stops you getting a glaring reflection in the sun. Our range of dining benches has also been designed with style and practicality in mind. The bench cushions are showerproof and can be removed for cleaning making them perfect for garden seating. However, they also have the comfort, look and style of indoor seating, ticking all of the right boxes!

Mistake 5: Forgetting About The Finer Details

Not essential but they can make all the difference. Those finer details and finishing touches can be what really makes your garden area stand out from the rest! Adjustable floor guides, for example, may seem like a small feature. However, when you consider how annoying a wobbly garden table or chair can be on an uneven floor, the floor guides soon become a great addition.  Having chairs that are stackable are also ideal as they not only save space, but it also means you can have a couple of extra seats and pull them out when needed. This will make your garden space even more versatile. We’ve mentioned how useful it is to have removable cushions for cleaning and storage. But how about having the space double up as an extra side table? This considered feature is part of our Palermo corner bench range, where the end cushions can be removed to reveal and sleek wooden table, perfect for your drinks and snacks when not being used as a seat.

Mistake 6: Not Considering Storage

So you’ve got your dining bench and table all set up and it looks great sitting there in the sunshine. But what about when the warmer weather starts to fade? Although designed for outdoor use, you’ll want to protect your furniture in the winter months to keep it looking its best for longer. Consider whether you have room to store your garden furniture indoors, such as in a garage or garden shed. If you don’t have space to store the furniture indoors, invest in a garden cover to give the pieces an added layer of protection. It’s also a good idea to remove any fabrics and to stack you dining chairs for added stability when the wind picks up!

Mistake 7: Ignoring Existing Colours And Finishes

This one’s more a styling preference but it’s one to consider if you’re keen on creating a considered and coordinated look. Unlike indoors, you’re not matching your furniture with a sofa colour or feature wall. Instead, you’ve got your green lawn, flower beds and pebbled patio to contend with. With such an earthy palette to work with, try to choose furniture that can be tied in with the rest of the space. Matcha green and light greys are perfect for creating an earthy outdoor look. This look also works really well in a smaller garden as the green will blend rather than overwhelm. That’s not to say you can’t go bold though. Our Edie chair in Ginger works a treat in a garden area as the bright colour just radiates the look and feel of summer sunshine.   So there you have it, the 7 Outdoor Furniture Buying Mistakes You’ll Want To Avoid. Just recap, here’s what we’ve covered:
  1. Not thinking about your garden space
  2. Forgetting to measure before you buy
  3. Not researching the materials or the quality of the furniture
  4. Forgetting about function and relying only on aesthetics
  5. Forgetting about the finer details
  6. Not considering storage
  7. Ignoring Existing Colours and Finishes
