How to pick the right Bar Stool for your space
- How do I know a bar stool is the right height for my counter?Generally kitchen counters will measure between 870mm and 920mm, so make sure to measure this to start with. You'll then want to look at the height of the bar stool you're looking to purchase, paying attention to the bar stool seat height. We would normally suggest a gap of around 30-35cm for a comfortable gap. All our fixed height bar stools are around a seat height of 670mm which are perfect for the average kitchen counter height. In addition all our gas lift bar stools are also the perfect addition allowing you to adjust the height of the bar seat.
- What's the best material for my bar stool? For kitchen environments, we would recommend leather or faux leather materials for busy families with young children as these are easy to wipe clean. Our range of fabric and velvet bar stools are a great alternative to adding a soft touch to your kitchen space, and are all tested to 40,000 cycles on the martindale fabric rub test, making them durable and helping them maintain their quality feel for years to come.
- What's the difference between a counter height stools and a bar height stool?Counter height stools are typically used for kitchen counters or islands, while bar height stools are suitable for raised bar tables or taller counters. Our Bar Stools come in a range of sizes and we would advise always checking the seat height before purchasing. We would recommend leaving a 20cm gap between your seat and table for ample leg room.
- Top Tip!Generally, it’s best to allow about 15 cm between bar stools for a comfortable seating arrangement.
