With leather being one of the most comfortable, softest and durable materials, it is perhaps the most popular upholstered fabric in the world of furniture. With its long life expectancy comes responsibility, to ensure your leather gets the right care and attention it needs.
Here is our Danetti Guide to help you care for your leather
- Avoid Heat
Whether it be from a radiator or another heat source, ensure that you keep your stool or chair at least 200mm (20cm) away from it as this causes the leather to dry out. - Avoid Direct Sunlight
Try to keep your leather away from prolonged periods of direct sunlight, as overtime the colour may slightly fade. - Keep It Dust Free
Use a untreated cloth or vacuum with a soft brush to keep it dust and dirt free. Aim to do this about once a week. - Avoid Detergents
Using chemical cleaning products can seriously damage the leather. Only use products specifically designed for treating leather products. - Blot Spills And Stains Immediately
Blot the liquid or stain using a absorbent dry cloth and then gently wipe over the area with clean towel. If necessary for water based stains use lukewarm water to remove and allow all stains to dry naturally. Try not to scrub the leather as this could damage the surface. You many like to purchase leather protection cream which helps against stains and also helps maintain the soft texture and durability. - Avoid Air Pollution
Try to ensure that no cigarette or smoke fumes are in the air as this can cause the leather to fade or change colour over time.
Remember that the more time you take to care for your leather the longer it will maintain it’s elegant finish
