1. Create a kitchen diner. If you have a large enough room, or are willing to knock through from your kitchen to another room then a kitchen diner will draw the whole family in. Choose furniture that’s relaxed and family-friendly. A wooden table and leather chairs would be ideal, or you could choose stackable plastic chairs so you can keep some out at all times and have a stack of spare ones ready for when guests come over. If you’re choosing wood then pick a wood that matches any wood you have in your units. If your kitchen is sleek and minimalist then simple bright chairs may look best.

2. Go for something cosier. If there’s not the space for a table, or if you have a formal dining table elsewhere in the house then sofas can also work very well in kitchens. A corner sofa and a coffee table can help to define an area of the kitchen as relaxing space, and if you have a TV nearby then you’ll always find you have company while you cook!

3. Keep it cool and contemporary. If you’re trying to create a cool, grown-up kitchen – a place where you can have a cappuccino in the mornings and sit with your friends drinking a few cocktails, then a bar table and a few bar stools may be the answer. These look great in modern kitchens, perhaps all-white spaces or a kitchen with coloured laminate doors.

As the working week draws to a close, everybody at Danetti is thinking about heading home for the weekend.

Next, make sure your home feels ordered by investing in great storage. If you’re looking around thinking you need to clean up then it’ll make you unsettled. Large multi-purpose cabinets and sideboards are best, as they can house different types of things, from books to bed linen.

You’ll also need a dining table. Too many of us have become fans of TV dinners so a formal table starts to seem unnecessary, but it’s essential if you and your partner or family are going to have proper conversations without interruptions from Eastenders!
Buy comfortable dining chairs to match the table so you won’t quickly be dashing off to wash up – instead you’ll want to stay around the table chatting.
For your home to seem extra cosy, it’s great if you can create informal relaxing areas where you can chill out, maybe read magazines or listen to music. OK, so we know it’s only October, but if you’re planning to buy new furniture in time for Christmas, then now’s the time to order it.

From experience we know that the run up to the festive season always sees a surge in orders for tables, chairs and storage furniture as people try to make sure their homes will be tidy and that they’ll be able to seat all their guests comfortably.

If it’s seasonal dining furniture that you need then an extending table is a great idea – when your house is full of family and friends you can extend it out and lay on a great spread, but when life returns to normal and there’s just you and the immediate family left, you can collapse it down to save on space.

Stackable chairs are another good buy – simply stack them and store them when Christmas is over.

So Here is our Danetti Guide To Choosing The Right Dining Furniture

1. Measure The Space

   Measure the dining area, there should be at least a 900mm gap between the wall and the edge of the dining table. This ensures that the chairs will sit comfortably under the table and that the chairs are easy to pull out.

2. Consider Who Will Be Using The Space

   When sitting down to dine, the last thing you want is to be knocking elbows with the person next to you, so always think about the space and how it is going to be used. If you will use the area for family dining then a 4-8 seater dining table can be sufficient enough but if you hold frequent dinner parties then opt for a larger dining table seating over 8 people. If you only entertain large groups on an occasional basis, consider buying a smaller table that can expand. Ideally, the dining table should measure 900mm inches across. Narrower than that leaves no place in the middle for food; wider than that makes conversation difficult with the person seated opposite you.

3. Choose Chairs That Compliment Your Table

   As being a formal occasion, choose a dining chair that has similar design elements to the table to create symmetry. Advisably match the legs of the table and of the chair.

4. The Chair Must Be Comfortable

   We recommend a choosing a dining chair that is 435 mm wide as a standard size and at least 400mm deep. Obviously if you have a larger space and have opted for a bigger table then this can be increased. Dining chairs that are under these dimensions should be avoided as they cannot offer enough support.
